Campaign Story
* Typical cost of capstone projects (including registrations, travel and supplies) is about $1200.
* I am trying to raise $600 as family and school will cover the rest.
Goals for My Fundraiser:
Supporting my capstone project
*** I plan to pursue the project though participation in TSA activities like competitions and community service. ***
The Technology Student Association (TSA) is a national Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) that helps students explore STEM through hands-on projects, competitions, and leadership opportunities.
What is ‘Green Fashion Innovation Challenge’
A competitive innovation challenge where students and community members are invited to design eco-friendly fashion prototypes, culminating in a public exhibition and live pitch events.

Why I am pursuing this project (My why)
- I am a ‘Engager’ personality type person with strong ‘advocate’ business potential.
- I’m using my passion for entrepreneurship and eco-friendly stuff to become a whiz in green business, specifically sustainable fashion. I’m working on this cool project as an environmental scientist to create more sustainable fashion solutions. My goal? To help protect our planet and get more people in our community excited about conservation..
My plan of action: Competitions and Activities
Career Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) to join:
TSA – Technology Student Association focuses on developing technical leadership and project management skills through engineering challenges and innovation, which supports the technical aspects of sustainable fashion projects.
FBLA – Future Business Leaders of America emphasizes business acumen, leadership, and entrepreneurship, providing opportunities to develop business plans and community engagement strategies relevant to sustainable fashion commerce.
Competitions
TSA – Fashion Design and TechnologyThis introductory competition fits as it allows the student to explore sustainable and innovative fashion design, directly aligning with the Green Fashion Innovation Challenge by using eco-friendly materials and creative design concepts.
FBLA – Business Ethics
This introductory competition is selected to build a strong ethical foundation and understand the social responsibilities in business, which is crucial when launching an eco-focused fashion project.
TSA – Digital Video ProductionThis competition supports the advanced phase by allowing the student to create a compelling promotional video that highlights the innovation and sustainability aspects of the Green Fashion Innovation Challenge.
FBLA – Business PlanThis advanced competition enables the student to develop a comprehensive business model for the Green Fashion Innovation Challenge, integrating lessons learned from previous competitions and focusing on scalability and innovation.
Community Service:
Community Eco Fashion Showcase & Recycling Program
Why it fits: This community service activity complements the passion project by directly engaging the local community in sustainable fashion practices, thereby reinforcing the green initiative and providing real-world application of skills learned through competitions.
Implementation: In Year 1 Spring, the student will collaborate with local organizations in zip code 30088 to host a pop-up eco-fashion event. This event will feature a recycled garment runway, interactive displays on sustainable fashion, and a garment recycling drive.
Skills Development: Event planning, community engagement, marketing, sustainability education
